20Jan'13 with the family!

Hihi, been forever since I've updated! Sorry guys, got to busy with school and life totally had no time at all to blog! But no worries, I'm back now and I've got a lot to share!

2013; O levels this year! Everyday's like homework homework homework, revise revise revise, test test test! Omg, someone just shoot me now. Chinese's O's in June, 3rd to be exact. BRB EMOING.

Okay, back. Then there's like SPA almost every term, and I take all 3 sciences, which is like super stressful and all the sciences like need a lot of time to study and revise and the home works are like WOOSH stacks at a time...

Anyways, back to the topic. Had a chance to meet my ang moh relatives on the 20th after like, 4 years? Yes, I have ang moh relatives! Sometimes it's hard to believe it myself cause we barely keep in touch and its like they only come after many many years and they look so different each time! Still, it really feels good to meet up with them as we had a lot to share, life and stuff. And my second cousin {he's actually my uncle but like our age gap is so small so I call him my second cousin} reminded me about our conversation like the last time we met, and I told him that I had laksa for lunch everyday and he was like 'What's laksa?' and I went all rofl at him! Memories.

So we went for brunch at Xin Cuisine @ The Holiday Inn Atrium which has AMAZING dim sum! Initially wanted to go to the Imperial Herbal Restaurant at Vivo City but they only opened at like 1130, and we were hungry at like 1030? So waiting was a total no-no, and we had to make a detour to Xin Cuisine!

Brunch was amazing, as usual. Totally love their black bean pork ribs and liu sha bao! Next, we were off to Resorts World Sentosa to visit the Maritime Museum and Aquarium! Dad really sucks at driving btw, on our way there he totally had no idea where to go even though he's been there for quite a few times and every single time my mum and I have to direct him for practically every single turn/split road. So we parked at the hard rock hotel, which brought back so many memories cause the last time my family and I stayed at Resorts World, we checked in at the hard rock!

So at the museum when we were getting our tickets, my mum somehow met this weird guy who's identity is still unknown, and he magically handed us tickets to the museum. I'm still not sure if my mum payed him or anything, but if it's free then good for us I guess...

The museum was kinda boring I guess... Like more of just stuff that the different parts of Asia traded like many many years ago and the only thing that entertained me throughout was this stamp thingy they had at every station. And it's so surprising that only after a few months after they opened, everything is starting to spoil or have some dents here and there...

Okay, we've finally reached my favourite part of the day, the aquarium! Can you believe that that aquarium is the largest one in the world, with over 800 marine species?! I actually didn't have high hopes for the place when we first went in cause I expected it to be somewhat like Underwater World, which is super puny and only takes like 1 hour to walk through and get bored already. But noo, the S.E.A aquarium was far beyond my expectations! Firstly, it's like 10x bigger than I expected it to be and the marine life there were really pretty! Like you would usually would see certain marine life and just label them as 'fish' or 'seahorse' or just those typical names. But at the aquarium, there were a lot of marine life that were unlike anything you have ever seen before! Plus, they were classified into different categories, some according to the parts of the world you would find them and others into how to associate together. There was also this screen beside each tank that gave you some info about the marine animals in a nutshell, but like none of us really bothered to read up on them...

My ultimate favourite part of the maritime aquarium was... THE OCEAN DOME. Omg it's the most beautiful place I've ever seen in my life. It's like being underwater, but dry. Did that make any sense at all? Anyways, there was this really cool stingray like the one in finding nemo who was like the teacher, Mr. Ray I think? Anyways, he was like the Mr. Entertainer of the entire enclosure, always swimming past all of us with many cute little fishes on his back following him. The funny thing was that he was the only stingray who actually had fishes following him! The other stingrays there either had none, or they had like 1 or 2 which left after a while. The stingrays there also had a lot of different patterns on their back, some even had dots which looked like leopard prints!

Then, after like 1 hour, we were getting bored of the dome so we were about to leave when... the sweetest guy ever decided that it was the perfect time to propose to his girlfriend! How? Like around 2:50 there were 2 divers swimming past us and hiding behind one of the corals in the dome. My initial thought was like what the hell were they doing there right? They were just there chilling and stuff when at exactly 3, they swam up with this tube in their hands, which was actually a poster that said 'Will You Marry Me?" to the girl. Then there was like this BIG rose bouquet and the girl and guy were like wearing matching outfits, same colour and stuff like that, and she said... YES! So sweet right? I bet the girl totally didn't expect to have such a special proposal to remember... My second cousin thought it was kinda tacky, you know guys, but I think it's the sweetest thing that can ever happen! A girl would always want the moment when the guy she loves propose to her to be memorable and special, and not just like those ordinary kind.

Okay, long story short we finished the rest of the aquarium which was kinda average... Like the species left were not to my liking... So after all the walking and stuff we decided to go back to vivo city for some high tea followed by dinner. When our car was leaving the car park, my dad decided to try and use his complimentary ticket we got like 2 years ago, but obviously the ticket expired and we ended up paying lik $21 for parking, day like robbery right?

Had high tea at Bakerzin, cakes for everyone else and waffles for me. Forgot to take pictures of the food, too busy catching up! The waitress was kinda rude I guess? We're like 'Do you have this?' and se was like NO, with the super roll eyes, can't you read the menu kind of look. Urgh, Singapore seriously needs to improve their service industry cause now it's like PFFF while all our other industries advance...

Went to No Signboard Seafood for dinner next! Food was okay... A little overpriced for such small portions in my opinion. Couldn't really enjoy the superb chili crab cause of the blisters all over my tongue and it was like stinging all over! Ended up eating the salted egg crab and was totally famished!

That's about it! Till next time,
xoxo.
